Charges against a Lumberton man accused of being involved in a series of break-ins in Bladen County were dismissed Monday in Bladen County Superior Court when a key witness could not be located to testify.
The trial of Jeffery L. Hunt on charges of breaking and entering, larceny, possession of stolen goods, safecracking and possession of a firearm by a felon had been scheduled to begin Monday in Bladen County Superior Court.
Hunt was among eight people accused in several break-ins from June 2014 through March 2015. At least five of those charged had previously reached plea agreements with the State.
