Bladen, NC – Chemours, a global chemical company, is offering free drinking water well sampling to eligible residents, businesses, and public organizations in several North Carolina counties. The program aims to identify and address potential contamination in private wells, ensuring clean and safe drinking water for affected communities.
Who Is Eligible?
Residents and businesses with private drinking wells may qualify for sampling if their property is located in one of the following counties:
- Bladen, Cumberland, Sampson, Robeson, Harnett, or Hoke Counties – Call (910) 678-1101 for more information.
- New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, or Pender Counties – Call (910) 678-1100 for assistance.
The Sampling Process
Chemours follows a five-step process to test and, if necessary, replace contaminated water systems:
- Identify locations for sampling.
- Contact occupants to arrange appointments.
- Sample drinking water wells.
- Inform residents of the test results.
- Replace water systems if contamination is found and eligibility criteria are met.
Renters Can Participate Too
For residents renting their homes, Chemours encourages them to call and schedule an appointment for testing.
