Spread the love

Bladenboro will bring the Christmas spirit with festivities on Friday and Saturday. Members of Boost the Boro have been hard at work decorating to make all of the downtown happenings beautiful.

On Friday night, December 3rd, Boost the Boro will host their annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 6:30 pm. There will be hot cocoa and apple cider for sipping, cookies for eating, and music for listening. This event is free to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

Everyone will have the opportunity to gather, chat, and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decor and music until the lighting of the tree, which will take place on the corner at the intersection, next to New Light Church’s soon-to-be Connect Center, and across from the Medicine Shoppe.

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos, of course! Boost the Boro also just received an extra-special mailbox from the North Pole, according to members of the group. The “Letters to Santa” Mailbox will be set up at the event, ready to receive and deliver North Pole-bound letters.

Friday’s events are not all that is happening in “The Boro” this weekend. On Saturday morning, Bladenboro will have their annual Christmas Parade. The parade will begin on Village Street and end on Main Street at Bladenboro Middle School, as usual.

The parade will begin at 10:30 am. Floats and other vehicles will participate in the parade, spreading Christmas cheer and representing various organizations, businesses, and figures. The town of Bladenboro welcomes you to join the fun!
