The city of Clinton will celebrate Christmas in the City this evening from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
This event features carriage and hay rides through the downtown, an inflatable Snowzilla slide, Santa will make a stop at the Sampson County Courthouse, there will be a Kiwanis Secret Christmas Shop, and live music. The event will culminate with the lighting of the Christmas tree. There will also be a Taste of Christmas featuring various local restaurants.
The Sampson County History Museum will also be open. Entries from the Gingerbread House decorating contest sponsored by the Sampson Arts Council will be on display. Children are encouraged to decorate a gingerbread house of their own.
