From Frankie Burney, operator of the Clarkton Haunted House, on behalf of Clarkton Dixie Youth Baseball, we want to offer Prayer to the young man that was involved in the accident Saturday night.
In 15 years of running the annual fundraiser we have had minor accidents, bloody noses, cuts, bruises, and bites, but we have never had anything of this magnitude to occur. We went to New Hanover Hospital Sunday to visit with him and his family, he is doing OK considering the seriousness of the accident. We are chalking this up as a “freak accident” and not putting blame on any parties involved.
After talking with the parents of the young man, we have decided the house will be open and operate at the regular scheduled time, 7:30-11:30 p.m., Monday, Halloween night. The decision has also been made to donate half of the proceeds taken in Monday night to the family to help cover travel expenses to and from the hospital. Again we ask that everyone continues to Pray for this young man and his family as he starts the healing process.
