Clarkton School of Discovery won the Bladen Five Middle School Conference Tournament Championship Tuesday night at Bladenboro with a 2-0 victory over regular-season runner-up Elizabethtown by set scores of 25-15 and 25-19.
Bladenboro, the No. 4 seed defeated No. 5 seed East Arcadia in Tuesday’s tournament opening match. Clarkton then defeated Bladenboro 2-0 by set scores of 25-16 and 25-18.
In the other semi-final match, Elizabethtown defeated No. 3 seed Tar Heel to reach the title match.
Clarkton finished the season with a perfect 6-0 record and won both the Bladen Five regular-season and tournament titles. Members of Coach Chris Callihan’s Lady Blue Devil squad are Lauren Bowen, Madison Cain, Cybil Campbell, Abbie Cross, Katie Evans, Alyssa Futrell, Sara Gargala, Adrienne Howell, Ashley Hunsinger, Khadijah Jones, Lily Lin, Gracyn Martin and Ruth Ward, as well as, manager Tara Rogers, statistician Izzy Smith and assistant Kaycei Pait.
