Former West Bladen golfer Kayla Thompson is having a good fall golf schedule at UNCW in Wilmington. Kayla, a sophomore at UNCW, has played in two college golf tournaments this fall. She has had six tournament rounds and has averaged 75.17 strokes per round. Her best round, a two-under par 70, was recorded during the William and Mary Invitational in Virginia. She had rounds of 70-74-72=216. UNCW won the W&M Invitational and Kayla placed third among 72 lady golfers. In the second tournament, the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational at Chapel Hill, Kayla shot 76-81-78=235. UNCW did not play well and came in 17th out of 18 teams. Kayla’s stroke average of 75.17 is second among all UNCW lady golfers.
Kayla is a sophomore at UNCW.
