NEWBERRY, SC – West Bladen grad Clint Allen batted 4-11 and drove in 3 runs for Coker in their weekend baseball series against Newberry.

In Friday night’s series opener, Allen belted a single to centerfield in the second inning to drive in a run then laced a 2-out single to leftfield in the seventh inning that scored 2 runs and trimmed the Newberry lead to 7-6. The senior left fielder finished 2-5 with the 3 runs batted in, but the Cobras dropped a 10-7 decision.

The Bladenboro native raked a single to left in the third inning of Saturday’s first game and came around to score a run but Newberry prevailed by a 14-4 count. Allen also yanked a single to left in Saturday’s nightcap and batted 1-3 in each game.

The Cobras are now 19-17 on the season and will host North Greenville Tuesday in a 3 p.m. game.
