CrisBladen County Commissioners approved 2 part-time positions to assist Animal Control in an effort to improve customer service.  For years, 2 inmates from the NC Department of Corrections at White Lake assisted with keeping the Animal Control facilities clean and with other chores as required, allowing Animal Control officers to do their outside duties.  Since the closing of the DOC facility, all workers with Animal Control have had to do the inside chores.  Commissioners are working on a plan to use DOC labor from the Tabor City camp, hopefully in the not to distant future.  In the meantime, the public has been calling for Animal Control officers to return to the job of dealing with animal control problems.  Commissioners approved the two (2), 17 1/2 hour positions until they have the option of the additional DOC labor.  The request for the positions was made by Chris Harrelson, Director of Health and Human Service Agencies.
Commissioners also approved the adoption of a Resolution to display “In God We Trust” above the County Seal in the Commissioner’s room.
