Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday in regular session to address a wide range of issues, according to their agenda.

Items listed for consideration on the agenda include;
1) Elizabeth R. Davis will be administered the oath of office as Tax Assessor,
2) Consider approving gift cards for employee recognition,
3) Consider adopting a Resolution regarding Sales Tax Referendum,
4) Consider approval of a DOT Comprehensive Transportation Plan for the county,
5) Consider approving a revised Resolution related to a Rock Ramp Archway at Lock & Dam #2.
6) Consider a request related to Child Support Amnesty Day
7) Consider several issues to be presented by Wayne Raynor, Interim Health & Human Services Director,
8) Consider a request from Bradley Kinlaw, Emergency Services Director, for funds to complete an upgrade of the recently acquired old White Lake Department of Corrections so it can be used as a Public Safety Training Center,
9) Appointments to several committees and commissions are expected to be made.

And finally, the board is expected to discuss appointing a ‘Strategic Planning Steering Committee that may meet over a period of several months.” Issues expected to be addressed include;
a) Education (K-12, BCC)
b) Hospital (Health)
c) Business/Tourism
d) Economic Development
e) Public Safety (Fire, Law, EMS)
f) Industry
g) Faith Community
h) Agriculture
i) Municipal
j) Student (BCC)

Commissioners may appoint the chair and co-chairs of the various steering committees.

Commissioners will enter a closed session to discuss personnel.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Bladen County Courthouse and is open to the public.
