Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners meeting room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse.

The board will be asked to approve a consent agenda which consists of the proposed agenda, minutes of the January 16 special meeting, minutes of the January 16 regular meeting, budget amendments, county attorney invoices, declare as surplus a service side arm and gold captain’s badge in accordance with NC General Statute 20.187.2(a), and GEEP Electronics recycling services renewal agreement.

The Commissioners will recognize Bladen County employees Randy Garner and Milton Parker for their retirements which are effective February 1, 2018.  They are also slated to recognize 10 county employees for their service.

The Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to receive remarks on a rezoning request by Anthony Rich. He is requesting to rezone a parcel of land located at the corner of Wright Road and Burney Road from residential agricultural to commercial for the purpose of creating a used car lot.

The Commissioners wil receive the report of unpaid taxes for 2017 and will be asked to set a deadline to avoid advertisement of unpaid real property taxes.

The Commissioners will consider approving a temporary part-time administrative grant position at $14 per hour. The board will also consider a change order regarding the former Sheirff’s Office.

The board is expected to make an appointment to the White Lake Planning and Zoning Board.

The Commissioners will be requested to adopt resolutions of support installing two left turn lanes—one at Baltimore Road and NC 87 and the second at NC 211 and Elwell Ferry Road.

The Commissioners will also be asked to approve making a one-time donation to the Cape Fear Valley-Bladen County Hospital Foundation.
