Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday, 6:30 p.m. in the courthouse.  Following the approval of minutes from recent meetings commissioner Mark Gillespie will officially leave the board and Arthur Bullock will join two incumbents who were recently re-elected for 4 more years.  They are Charles Ray Peterson and Russell Priest.  Peterson is a District 2 commissioner and Priest represents District 3.

Following their swearing in, the newly assembled board of 9 members will elect a chairman and vice chairman.  Jimmy Smith has served the past couple of years in that role.

Board members will recognize Fay Sykes and Wanda Butler, both are are retiring from the county effective December 1.  Then there will be a reception to honor all.

Chris Harrelson, Director of Health and Human Services will update the board on the Communicable Disease Program, 2014 Regulatory changes affecting Environmental Health and consider approval of WIC Crossroads business hours.

The Board is expected to make 2 appointments to the Bay Tree Lakes Fire District committee.

County Manager Greg Martin is expected to seek approval of Construction Manager At-Risk Procurement Methodology and discuss board tours of jail facilities.  The board recently voted to proceed with preliminary plans to construct a new jail.

A voting delegate to the NCACC Legislative Goals Conference will be appointed.
