The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. due to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. The meeting will be held in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. The board is scheduled to recognize several county employees for their years of service followed by a reception.

The board will consider approving a consent which includes the proposed agenda, the minutes of the January 7, 2019 special meeting and the January 7, 2019 regular meeting, budget amendments, County attorney invoices totaling $2,575, tax releases No. 12-18,  review of Community Services Block Grant Program FY 2019-20 funding application for the benefit of Southeastern Community and Family Services Inc., and a College Bound program letter of support.

The Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to receive public comments regarding a proposed five-year incentive grant with New Generation Yarn Corporation. Following the public hearing, the board will be asked to approve the New Generation Yarn Corporation Incentive Agreement.

The Commissioners will be asked to approve a Health and Human Services Agency Advisory Committee (HHSAC) Operating Procedures and to hear an update regarding Health and Human Services Agency activities.

Tax Advisor Renee Davis will be administered her oath of office and the Commissioners will be asked to consider accepting or rejecting a bid for $1,500 for a county owned property located at 785 Barney Coe Road.

Finance Director Lisa Coleman will present the Financial Dashboard for the period ending December 31, 2018.

Dean Morris, with Bladen County Soil and Water Conservation, will present to the Commissioners Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $7,450 with Scott Cumbee of Safe Environmental related to a Bryant Swamp stream debris removal project.

The Commissioners will also consider several advisory board appointments.

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present a calendar update and an update on the Hometown Strong Visit and Homegrown Leaders Initiative.

The board will be asked to consider scheduling a pre-budget hearing for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019.

The board will meet in closed session to consider a real property purchase.
