In the wake of Hurricane Helene’s devastating impact, churches and individuals across various communities joined forces to provide much-needed relief for affected families in Asheville, North Carolina. This unified effort was spearheaded by the Unity Fellowship of Churches (UFC), a 501(c) nonprofit organization, under the leadership of Dr. John H. Grant, President, and Dr. Thurman B. Everett, Vice President.
The initiative successfully raised a total of $9,810. Of this amount, $1,000 was allocated to the West Coast Baptist Association in Orlando, Florida, which was also affected by the hurricane. The remaining $8,810 was directed to support disaster relief efforts in Asheville.
Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Asheville, led by Rev. Dr. J. H. Grant, expressed profound gratitude to the donors and contributing organizations. A formal letter from Rev. Dr. Grant emphasized the significance of the funds in aiding families impacted by the storm. The church highlighted that the donations were an embodiment of generosity, compassion, and faith. A detailed report on the use of the funds will be shared as expenditures unfold.
