CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER APPLAUDS PASSAGE OF MANDATORY HARASSMENT TRAINING FOR U.S. HOUSE

“Please Pray for Your Leaders”

Rep. Robert Pittenger

WASHINGTON – This afternoon, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously adopted House Resolution 630, “Requiring each Member, officer, and employee of the House of Representatives to complete a training in workplace rights and responsibilities each session of each Congress.”

Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09), who already requires his staff to complete anti-harassment training, strongly supported the resolution:

“Sexual harassment is wrong, and reports of this behavior on Capitol Hill deeply trouble me.  My office has always had a zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment, and I am thankful the full House joined together today to require this training for all Members, officers, and employees.

“Please pray for us.  Pray for those who are your leaders.  They are people with clay feet.  We must live at a higher standard, and people should expect that from us.  We all need to be upheld.”
