WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) had this statement on President Trump’s Executive Order on Religious Liberty:
“Historically, America has been a haven for those seeking religious freedom. Yet under President Obama, the federal bureaucracy became increasingly hostile to religious organizations and ordinary Americans seeking to quietly live out their faith. President Trump’s warranted executive order affirms our Constitutional right to religious freedom, pushing back against regulations used to muzzle Americans of all faiths.”
Congressman Pittenger serves on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, which monitors human rights and religious persecution in China. He is also host of a weekly Capitol Hill Bible study and a Member of the Congressional Prayer Caucus.
