MONROE – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) recently addressed the U.S. House of Representatives in honor of Indian Trail’s Michael Macchiavello, who on March 17th won the NCAA Division 1 national wrestling championship.

“Mr. Speaker, I rise today in honor of North Carolina State University senior Michael Macchiavello, who on March 17th won the NCAA Division 1 national wrestling championship at 197 pounds.
“Mr. Macchiavello is a graduate of Sun Valley High School in Indian Trail, North Carolina, where he was a 4-A state champion wrestler in 2013, when he posted a 61-1 record. Mr. Macchiavello is not just a champion inside the ring. He’s already completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and is working on a Masters of Arts.
“Indian Trail, Union County, and the entire 9th Congressional District are mighty proud of you. We wish you the best in what we know will be a great success for you in the future.”
Tonight, Congressman Pittenger will join the Town of Indian Trail to honor Michael Macchiavello by presenting him with a flag flown above the U.S. Capitol.
