Congressman Robert Pittenger HeadshotCHARLOTTE – This afternoon, Congressman Robert Pittenger will return to Washington to conduct the people’s business, as President Obama flies to Charlotte for a campaign rally.

“From Paris to San Bernardino to Orlando to Istanbul, we are seeing radical Islamist terrorism strike across the globe with disturbing frequency.  President Obama’s foreign policy of appeasement and apology has been a failure, leaving America and the world less safe,” said Congressman Pittenger (NC-09).

“At the same time, America’s economy is sputtering along with just 1.5 percent growth.  The net worth of the typical African-American family declined by one-third under President Obama.  More American businesses are dying than being created.

“Is this the type of leadership to tout at a campaign rally?  Wouldn’t President Obama’s time be better spent actually working with Congress on legislation to grow the economy, create good paying jobs, and keep American families safe?”

Congressman Pittenger is Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing, and is working with House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) to introduce legislation to repeal and replace the failed Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation, which has damaged America’s economic growth.
