WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09), Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare and Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing, had this statement regarding the terrorist attack in Turkey on Sunday:
“The heinous suicide bombing in Turkey by a very young teenager, killing 51 innocent pedestrians, again demonstrates the ruthless tactics of radical Islamic terrorists. We must recognize their relentless efforts to recruit and bring destruction to civilized free society.
“The world is waiting for the U.S. to provide an offense with a clarion call to eliminate the ISIS central capacity in Raqqa, intercept their funding and resource capacities, and provide a unified military strategy to defeat their mercenaries. We must maintain access to the flow of data and information to track their plans and prevent their objectives. After 8 years of President Obama’s feckless foreign policy doctrine of concessions and ransom payments, the U.S. must revert back to the principle of speaking softly and carrying a big stick.”Share:
