WASHINGTON – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) is excited to once again showcase talented local student artists through the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. Open to high school students in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, the first-place artwork will be displayed in a busy corridor of the U.S. Capitol complex for one year.

“Our community has much to be thankful for, including many talented high school artists and their dedicated teachers, as well as the parents who support their dreams,” said Congressman Pittenger. “We display the first-place entry in a corridor visited by thousands of people every day, and my staff and I always make sure to point it out to visitors.”

Entries will be accepted through 5 p.m. on April 26th. Full details and official rules are available at pittenger.house.gov/constituent-services/arts-competition.

The community will be invited to help select three finalists via a Facebook competition (Facebook.com/CongressmanPittenger) from noon on April 27th through noon on May 2nd. Three additional finalists will be selected by regional art experts. Finalists will be announced May 3rd.

The first place winner will be chosen from the six finalists by Congressman Pittenger, his staff, and the regional art experts. The first place winner will receive the Congressional Art Award:
