CHARLOTTE – Congressman Robert Pittenger issued this statement as he reflected on the fifteenth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks:
“As we remember 9/11, America faces more perilous challenges than ever before. The terrorist monitoring organization, SITE, reported that during June, July, and August, a terrorist attack was committed every 84 hours.
“President Obama’s misguided foreign policy of appeasement and apology has emboldened our enemies around the world. From Iran and radical Islamic jihadists, to increasing aggression from China and Russia, to North Korea’s recent nuclear warhead test, America’s adversaries sense weakness and are actively challenging President Obama.
“President Obama’s foreign policy has been wholly inadequate and ineffective, and we must reverse his strategy of concessions and ransoms, as well as fully restore the confidence and full commitment of our allies.”
Congressman Pittenger (NC-09) serves as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, and Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing.
