CHARLOTTE – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) released this statement as he reflects on the 16th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
“As we remember 9/11, America faces more perilous challenges than ever before. Radical Islamic jihadists, North Korea, China, Russia, and Iran have all been emboldened by years of feckless and feeble foreign policy. On 9/11, brave American citizens and first-responders stood up to radical Islamic terrorists and proclaimed through their actions that America stands for freedom and liberty. Let us never forget the lives lost, or the bravery of the first-responders. Let us also remember their spirit as we face increasing challenges in 2017.”
Congressman Pittenger serves as Vice Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Terrorism and Illicit Finance, and as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare.
