Congressman David Rouzer was in Bladen County Wednesday and met with members of the Bladen County Board of Commissioners and others including Sheriff Jim McVicker, Elizabethtown City Manager Eddie Madden and members of the general public. Rouzer was accompanied by Billy Barker who is one of his local representatives. He also announced that Dwight Williams of Sampson County would be working in the district.

Either Barker or Williams will be in Bladen County the first Tuesday of each month, meeting with constitutes at the Ag Center in Elizabethtown.
 
Rouzer made brief comments before opening the meeting up to questions and comments from those in attendance.
 
He spoke briefly about his first days in Congress, his appointments, and his commitment to every county in his district.
 
The new 7th District Congressman responded to numerous questions including those related to the expansion of medicaid and fracking,
 
He spoke about issues he expected to be debated in the upcoming session of Congress including Education Reform, Obamacare, reducing regulations that hamper the expansion of jobs, and the economy in general.
 
He called Israel our ally and said Isis is a real threat.
 
Rouzer promised that this visit would not be his last, he expected to be in every county in his district and emphasized that every county is important to him.
 
Chairman Charles Ray Peterson expressed appreciation for him taking time to visit and listen to Bladen concerns.
