PEMBROKE- Former West Bladen star Conner Brisson scored 2 runs and drove in one as UNC-Pembroke swept doubleheaders this week from Flagler and Francis Marion.
In Monday’s 10-1 win over Flagler, Brisson’s grounder plated Lauren Hilbourn to boost the Lady Brave lead to 5-1 in the 3rd inning. Brisson walked in the 5th inning and eventually raced home on Jordan Adcox’s single that grew the lead to 8-1.
In Wednesday’s 6-4 victory over Francis Marion belted a single to leftfield in the 2nd inning but was left on base. The Dublin native reached base on a throwing error in the 5th inning and sprinted home on Hilbourn’s double as the Lady Brave lead stretched to 6-1.
The Lady Braves improved to 7-1 in the Peach Belt Conference and 19-7 overall. They are currently tied for 2nd place in the conference. UNC-Pembroke hits the road Sunday for doubleheaders at Columbus State and then at Georgia Southwestern Monday.
