Connor Brisson, right, with Carley Dawson

West Bladen junior Conner Brisson has verbally committed to join Lady Knight teammate Carley Dawson in continuing her softball and academic career at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Brisson has started at shortstop for the last 2 years for the Lady Knights. West Bladen compiled a 35-13 record in those 2 seasons and in 2017 the Lady Knights captured the Four County Conference championship with a 13-1 league record and 20-4 overall mark.

This past season Brisson was named All-Four County Conference, and NC Softball Coaches Association Class 2A All-State and All-District 4. Conner was also selected along with Dawson to represent Region 4 in the North Carolina Powerade State Games.

In two seasons with the Lady Knights, Brisson has compiled a .368 batting average, connected for 50 hits, drove in 37 runs, scored 39 runs and slugged 4 doubles and 5 triples. In 2017 she led West Bladen with a .516 batting average and posted a .507 on-base percentage and .629 slugging percentage.

Conner was a member of the Lumberton All-Star team that won the 2016 Dixie Belles Softball World Series in Little River, SC.
