The Summer Sounds Concert Series got off to a hot start on Thursday evening with temperatures in the mid-90s, but the crowd didn’t seem to notice as they danced into the evening to the sounds the Cool Heat band. The concert series in Elizabethtown is presented by the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

Marvin Hester who was in attendance at the concert said, “Band was great,hope to hear them again soon.Weather was good and great time enjoyed by all.”

The concerts in the series will be held the on Thursday evenings at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market on July 25th, August 8th and August 22nd. The music and dancing will be from 6 – 9 p.m. tonight. The Entertainers, Catalinas, and Jim Quick and the Coastline are the bands lined up to take the stage during the summer concerts.

The concerts are free and open to the public.
