Cooperative Leadership Camp accepting registrationsbladenonline 05/18/2018 0 COMMENTS
CLC is a five day four night summer camp that puts teens in the positions of Worker Owners of a T-shirt cooperative. The teens work through the week to elect a board of directors, design, produce and sell T-shirts for their cooperative. At the end of the week they have their Annual Meeting to hear about the week and vote to dissolve the cooperative.
Sponsored teens will learn skills such as team building, the seven cooperative principles, and industry workshops as well as a have a bit of lake fun. There will also be a talent show, awards night and more.
Each year the top performing teens are voted on by their peers at a banquet. All students who attend CLC are eligible for the Jim Graham $1,000 college scholarship which they can apply for during their senior year of high school.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the camp Wednesday, June 20th, from 8 am until 12 noon.
You can support the camp in several ways: sponsor a teen (only $375 for CCNC Members to send a teen!), send a staff member for the week (great introduction to newer staff and leadership for those looking for growth) or send a staff member to do a workshop (teach the teens how your cooperative fits into the bigger picture of the Cooperative Movement).
Complete your teens registration forms by June 1st. Link to registration form
