North Carolina has been in a Stay at Home order given by the governor since March. Individuals and churches alike in Bladen Country are thinking outside the house to bring joy and spread love during this time of quarantine.

One Elizabethtown resident on Pecan Street has been making chalk art daily since people are walking around her neighborhood more often. Sally Johnson, draws art and writes inspirational chalk messages in her driveway for the passers-bys to read.

New Light Church started a #seekthecross Scavenger Hunt on Friday, April 10th. The festive idea is to help raise money for a local food bank and to teach others about Jesus.

The church posted, ”Although Easter might look a little different this year, we’re still celebrating our Savior. Join us for Easter online!” They added, ”Thanks for helping us raise money for the local food bank and learning about how much Jesus loves us!”

Any age group may participate in the scavenger hunt by following the signs the church has posted in Bladenboro. According to the church, every family that participates and tags us, we are donating $5 to the local food bank. The hunt will last until April 20th!

The activity is open to the public. #seekthecross Scavenger Hunt’s First Stop is New Light Church located at 103 Chestnut Street in Bladenboro.

These are just two reports of how citizens are thinking of others in a time of crisis. Share with your friends and have fun!
