Gov. Roy Cooper issued an executive order on Friday March 27, 2020 mandating North Carolinians stay home beginning Monday March 30, 2020 at 5 p.m. State residents can leave their homes for travel to grocery, hardware and other stores, and for essential businesses; however, people who leave their homes are directed to stay at least 6 feet apart and not gather in groups of more than 10 people.

As part of the Town of White Lake’s continued response to the COVID-19 pandemic and pursuant to the Declaration of a State of Emergency, it has been ordered that all non-resident property owners or renters will be prohibited from entering the Town of White Lake beginning Friday, March 27, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and continuing for a period of at least thirty days.

Violators will be verbally warned by officers prior to taking actual enforcement action and then for those that don’t heed the warnings, criminal citations may be issued. The White Lake Police Department wants all of our Town’s property owners, renters, and visitors to know that you are very important to us and we have looked forward to your return this season.

With that being said we at the White Lake Police Department ask that each and every one of our property owners, renters, and visitors PLEASE abide by the Declaration that has been issued. We have a special place here at White Lake and our officers know most of our residents and visitors by name.

There are not many law enforcement agencies that have the type of relationship our department has with our citizens and we are very proud of this. The White Lake Police Department is calling on each of you to help us keep White Lake the special place it is.

We ask that you work with us to slow the spread of COVID-19 and when the pandemic is over everybody can return and have a great summer. It is our goal to have a successful summer this year at White Lake and we need your help to make this happen!
