Spread the love

It’s Senior Night for both Bladen County high school football programs. It’s a time to recognize the efforts and thank those who have given their best for the Eagles and Knights and who will be graduating in the spring. It will be the final high school football game on their home field for the players, cheerleaders and band members.

Thanks to each one and best of luck in your future endeavors.

ST. PAULS at EAST BLADEN: The Eagles pretty much sealed a playoff spot with wins the past two weeks. The competition will be quite a bit tougher in the final game of the regular season. St. Pauls 35, East Bladen 13.

MIDWAY at WEST BLADEN: The Knights will put away the uniforms after this one. The effort should be there since this is the last game until 2023. Midway 28, West Bladen 14.

PITTSBURGH at NORTH CAROLINA: The defending Coastal Division champs are 0-6 in Chapel Hill and should remain winless in Kenan Stadium against a Tar Heels team that is the frontrunner this season to win the Coastal. North Carolina 31, Pittsburgh 27.

FRIDAY’S PICK TO CLICK

It’s time for Teuvo Teravainen to put the puck in the back of the net. The Carolina forward scored 22 goals last season. He’ll try to get his first this season when the Hurricanes return from a five-game road trip and play the New York Islanders at PNC Arena.

THURSDAY’S PICK: Christopher Dunn will kick three field goals to help N.C. State beat Virginia Tech at Carter-Finley Stadium. RESULTS: Dunn made his only field goal attempt, a 35-yarder in the closing seconds of the first half, and his only extra-point attempt as the Wolfpack came from behind to win 22-21.
