A pedestrian 15-6 week kept the season record at 71%. In pigskin predictions, thy name is mediocre.

Missing all three Carolina Panthers game isn’t helping.

Week 6 record: 15-6 (71%)
Season record: 70-29 (71%)
Prep record: 5-1 last week (32-15 season, 68%)
College record: 8-4 last week (36-11 season, 77%)
Pro record: 2-1 last week (2-3 season, 40%)

EAST BLADEN at WEST BLADEN: Neither the Eagles (1-5) nor the Knights (1-4) are having a season to remember, but a win against their county rival will bring some joy. West Bladen and its fans are tired of hearing about the 1-20 record against the Eagles and would love nothing better to get a win, but not seeing it happen this year. East Bladen 22, West Bladen 12.

N.C. STATE at CLEMSON: The last time the Wolfpack won at Clemson the West Bladen football team had a 1-0 series lead against rival East Bladen heading into their second meeting. It was Oct. 24, 2002 when N.C. State won 38-6. Can’t see the streak ending in 2022 with a night game in Death Valley. It may be a soggy one. Clemson 27, N.C. State 23.

WAKE FOREST at FLORIDA STATE: Florida State is trying to revitilize a once-proud program under Mike Norvell and is well on its way after starting 4-0 for the first time since 2015. The Deacons already have a proud program and proved it last week in a loss against Clemson. Wake Forest 27, Florida State 24.

THURSDAY’S PICK TO CLICK

Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase has more than 100 yards receiving for the first time this season and scores a touchdown against Miami.

WEDNESDAY’S PICK: This time I really, really, really mean it. Aaron Judge hits home run No. 61 to tie Roger Maris for the American League single-season record when the Yankees play at Toronto. The pick will look brilliant when Judge hits it. RESULTS: Judge lined a home run to left off Tim Mayza in the seventh inning for No. 61.

TODAY IN SPORTS HISTORY

2015 — NCAA bans the SMU men’s basketball team from the postseason and suspends coach Larry Brown for nine games, saying he lied to investigators and ignored a case of academic fraud by a player.
