On Friday Phase One of North Carolina’s three-phase plan to reopen amid the COVID-19 virus outbreak went into effect at 5 p.m. The idea is a gradual return to normalcy, according to officials on the Governor’s Coronavirus Task Force. In the first phase of the reopening project, public schools and non-essential businesses remain close.
Residents have been asking when businesses such as gyms and salons will be allowed to reopen. If there is not a significate increase and during Phase One, Cooper suggested that Phase Two can begin on May 22, which may enable salons and gyms to reopen.
During the first phase of the plan, more businesses can open, and people may venture out for more than necessities, according to officials. Companies that do open have to guidelines for social-distancing and cleaning. Phase one is expected to last for two weeks.
