Testing for COVID-19 in Bladen County continues for people meeting the North Carolina Department Health and Human Services guidelines, according to Dr. Terri Duncan, Bladen County Director of Health & Human Services.

In a press release, Duncan stated, “There are currently no positive cases in Bladen County, we are awaiting eight (8) tests results. At least 24 tests have been performed for Bladen County residents.”

Her report came in around noon on Thursday, March 26, after the NCDHHS announced a total of 636 COVID-19 cases in North Carolina.

Duncan also sent a reminder about the Women Infant Children (WIC) program, which helps families stay healthy.

“In the midst of this confusing time, making WIC benefits available to families is a priority of the Bladen County Health Dept,” Duncan stated.

The WIC staff are accessible in person or by phone from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Some transactions can be conducted by phone, and reloading WIC cards may be done over the computer, according to Duncan.

Please call (910) 872-6218 if you have questions or if the WIC staff can assist you in any way.
