Sheriff Jim McVicker of Bladen County announced more drug arrests made with joint agency efforts. Arrests involving cocaine, narcotics and marijuana were all part of what the Sheriff announces as the “Valentines Roundup”.

On February 14, 2019, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Bladenboro Police Department executed a search warrant at 419 Elizabethtown Road, Harmony Homes Apartment # 10 in Bladenboro.  During the search warrant marijuana was seized.

Bladenboro Chief of Police, William Howell, stated he greatly appreciated the working relationship with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and wished to send a message to the criminal element of Bladenboro through aggressive enforcement activities such as this search warrant.  During this case, multiple offenders were identified and additional charges are forthcoming according to law enforcement.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has completed an investigation into the distribution of Controlled Substances in the Suggs Taylor/JJ Bordeaux Road area of Elizabethtown. During the investigation, it was determined by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit there was enough evidence to arrest the individuals listed below for distributing Controlled Substances.

The investigation originated from citizen complaints which prompted Narcotics Agents to the area of 1380 Suggs Taylor Road, Elizabethtown, according to the Sheriff’s office.  Agents conducted undercover purchases from the defendant in this investigation where prescription medication was purchased.

All defendants in the “Valentines Roundup” investigation have been arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

Charges: 1 count of Sell Schedule III Controlled Substances, 1 count of Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substances, 1 count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substances

Name: Jimmy Lee Newkirk, 38
Address: 799 North Mitchell Ford Road, Clarkton, NC
Bond: $25,000.00
Charges: 1 count of Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Marijuana, 1 count of Manufacture Marijuana, 1 count of Possession of Marijuana, 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

During a separate investigation, it was determined by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit that the below listed individual was responsible for distributing Controlled Substances in and around the Clarkton area of Bladen County.

Agents conducted undercover purchases from the residence in this investigation where controlled substances were sold.

At the conclusion of this investigation, on February 14, 2019, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 47 Tina’s Lane, Clarkton, NC.

During the search warrant, cocaine, marijuana, US Currency, and a handgun were seized.

The defendant in this investigation was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with the ATF in regard to this case and further charges are anticipated.

A fourth investigation lead agents Agents to the area of 5724 NC 87 East, Elizabethtown, NC.  Agents conducted multiple undercover purchases from the defendant in this investigation where marijuana and prescription medication were purchased.

At the conclusion of this investigation, on February 14, 2019, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office served arrest warrants on the defendant.  The defendant in this investigation was arrested and processed at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.

for the Purpose of Selling Controlled Substances, 3 counts of Selling Controlled Substances Within 1,000 Feet of a School
