RED SPRINGS – West Bladen’s Demon’tre Love finished 2nd in Wednesday’s Southeastern Athletic Conference boys’ race, and the Lady Knights’ Lainey Autry placed 4th in the girls’ race.
Seven Bladen runners — 4 from West Bladen and 3 from East Bladen — recorded top ten finishes. The Eagles’ Jacob Knuth placed 4th in the boys’ race and teammate Jacob Caulder was 9th.
East Bladen’s Johnny Alvarado, who had won the first 3 boys meets of the season, didn’t finish the race. According to Coach Wilson Bolden, Alvarado stepped in a hole and injured his ankle and elected not to continue and risk further injury.
West Bladen’s Kirsten Warrick finished 6th in the girls’ race, and teammate Holland Davis recorded a 10th place finish. Kaden Thurman was in 20th place. East Bladen’s Sabara McLean placed 9th, and teammate Gabriella Bray was in 13th place.
