Cry Out America 2015September 11th is a date that will forever be remembered by all Americans as, a day back in 2001, when terrorists launched an attack in the land of the free and home of the brave. The annual ‘Cry Out America’ will be held on Friday, September 11th, on the Bladen County Courthouse front lawn, in Elizabethtown, to honor first responders fallen in the line of duty.

Awakening America Alliance, a network of evangelical, Pentecostal and Charismatic ministries, is the organization who has sponsored ‘Cry Out America’ for years now. “In many ways, what happened on Sept. 11, 2001 signaled what would take place in the 21st century,” said Dr. Billy Wilson, Executive Director for the International Center for Spiritual Renewal, Empowered 21 and The Awakening America Alliance. “We saw the collapse of things we thought were certain, of things we thought would never fall, and we saw an invasion of darkness and fear in our nation that we had never experienced.”

“Some days I wake up and ask myself ‘How in the world did America get in this shape? How did we become this dark during my generation?’ I believe that can change, but it can only change if the people of God unite in prayer.”

Pam Ward has assisted in organizing the event for Bladen County for many years. According to Ward, the time was changed from noon to 6:00 pm this year in hopes that more people will be able to attend. Guest speakers will be Rev. Chris Denny, Rev. Cameron McGill, and Rev. Cliff Freeman.
According to Ward, the event will be held at Living Spring Church on Poplar Street if there is inclement weather.
