There is excitement in the air at Clarkton School of Discovery as teachers and staff prepare for a visit from Visual Artist David Edgar.

Visual artist, David Edgar, will be working with all of the school’s sixth grader students to create a work of art from recycled laundry detergent bottles. His visit is made possible through a grant from the NC Arts Council, according to Jennifer Marlowe.

Also, Robert Outlaw, who specializes on computer science will also be on the campus working with students. He will be working with students in Marlowe’s science classes on computer coding. Outlaw will spend Monday and Tuesday engaged in an activity called “The Hour of Code” global initiative. Outlaw is employed by the Microsoft Corporation.

The visits are made possible through a grant from the N.C. Arts Council.
