Cub Scout Pack 600 of Elizabethtown spent the weekend visiting and learning about history at the USS Yorktown and Fort Sumter in South Carolina.

Every year around fall/winter Pack 600 sells popcorn as a fundraiser for the Packs upcoming activities. As a reward the scouts whom sold are treated to a great Summer camping trip, this year we went to USS Yorktown.

While visiting South Carolina, Pack 600 rode a ferry to Fort Sumter where they were able to learn about the Civil War. They also toured the historic site.

At the USS Yorktown, Pack 600 met Scrappy, the mascot for the ship. The members of Pack 600 also got to take a virtual reality tour and learn about space while they were on board the USS Yorktown.  In addition to the virtual reality tour, the group was able to tour the ship and learn about its history.

Following the tour, the group camped and enjoyed a treat of Baskin Robbins ice cream.
