West Bladen grad D. J. Mason pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and dished out a team-high 5 assists Friday night to lead his Campbell Camels to an 87-42 season-opening victory over visiting Montreat College.
Mason also scored 3 points, blocked a shot and had 2 assists in only 19 minutes of action as the Camel reserves played most of the second half. Campbell opened the game with a 29-2 blitz and led 54-19 at halftime.
Campbell will travel to Savannah State on Monday for a 7 p.m. game.
