DJ MasonWest Bladen grad D. J. Mason pumped in 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as his Campbell Camels routed Presbyterian 91-61 Saturday night in Big South Conference basketball action in Clinton, SC.

Mason connected on 5 of 6 shots from the field, dished out 3 assists and had one blocked shot and one steal.

The Clarkton native put back an offensive rebound to tie the game 12-12 then blocked a shot and grabbed a defensive rebound.

With 5:26 left in the half, Mason tipped in another rebound for a 32-27 Camel lead. The 6-6 senior dropped in a lay-up four minutes into the second half that stretched the Campbell lead to 58-40.

Midway the half Mason turned a lay-up into a 3-point play and a 70-43 lead. Moments later Mason slammed home a dunk that grew the lead to 75-43.

Mason is Campbell’s leading rebounder averaging 7 per game and is the team’s third-leading scorer with an 11 ppg average.

The Camels are now 4-11 in the Big South and 10-15 overall. Campbell will host Allen University (SC) Tuesday at 8 p.m.
