BladenOnline.com is dedicated to bringing Bladen and surrounding counties the latest in news, sports, advertising and more. Our Founder, Robert Hester, reminds us often, “the best is yet to come.”

As a team BladenOnline.com is dedicated to bringing our readers the best we have to offer. Therefore, we are proud to announce Darius Spillman as our new Editor.

“I am honored and delighted to be named editor of Bladen Online. I am looking forward to enhancing Bladen Online’s website with the most up-to-date, accurate, and reliable news,” Spillman said.

He continued, “Even as a resident of Cumberland County, I constantly find myself reading news about Bladen and surrounding counties to “stay in the know.” Whether you live, work, or play in Bladen County – it’s vital to know who, what, where, when, and why. Bladen County is considered to be the “Mother County,” which is a proud title to hold. As a native of Fayetteville, my association with Bladen County has been brief. However, I must say that the people and environment are unforgettable. Everyone is close-knit, and strangers are treated as if they are family. That nostalgic hometown feeling is definitely alive and well in Elizabethtown, and other surrounding towns such as Bladenboro, Dublin, and Tar Heel. ”

Charlotte Smith, owner of BladenOnline.com said, “We needed an Editor for some time now. We try to report about so much in our communities, often times we have not had time to proofread our work.”

Erin Smith, General Manager of BladenOnline.com said, “Mr. Spillman has been doing a great job so far and we look forward to what the future holds with him being on the BladenOnline team.”

For folks who would like to know a little more about BladenOnline’s new team member, Spillman introduced himself as follows.

As a father of two young boys, a 5-year-old and a 9-month-old, I wholeheartedly understand the importance of the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child.” Dedicated parents, teachers, family, and friends are tools for success. Bladen County has a lot to offer, such as values, morals, ethics, traits, and hobbies. At the age of 25, I’m still learning about different ways to make life easier. Simple, yet enjoyable hobbies, such as fishing and hunting weren’t even a thought until I started meeting residents of Bladen County. So I’m looking forward to learning, and teaching what I’ve learned to my children so they will be better off.

Lastly, I would like to thank Charlotte and Erin Smith for the opportunity to showcase my passion for writing and the media. And I would also like to thank the residents of Bladen County for allowing me the opportunity to keep you “in the know.”
