The deal to bring a new restaurant to Elizabethtown is moving along, according to officials with Clark Brothers, Inc.

The representatives with Bojangles are working to complete the “due diligence phase of their lease”. Due diligence is a real estate term meaning the company can use the time period to review documents, perform any necessary calculations, inspect the property and review any other information pertinent to the purchase.

“We’re getting a few things done all the time,” said David Clark, of Clark Brothers Inc.

He said if the company’s “due diligence” proves positive, Elizabethtown will soon have a Bojangles restaurant. Clark said things seem to be progressing well.

Once the franchise company completes the due diligence phase, they will construct a new facility on the lot that once housed Cape Fear Bar-B-Que and Chicken at 330 S. Poplar Street in Elizabethtown. The building that housed the bar-b-que and chicken restaurant was torn down to make way for a new facility.

The construction date will be announced at a later date.
