Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY – Elizabethtown rolled to a 16-1 victory over Columbus County Sunday in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Supplemental Tournament.

The winners jumped on top with a 5-run first inning. Prince McKoy clubbed a lead-off double, and Lathan Cashwell singled. Aiden Trinidad walloped a double that scored both runners. Colt Lewis reached base before Gaston Russ drove in Trinidad with a single. Taylor King ripped a double that scored Lewis and Russ.

Rex Register and Gauge King started the Elizabethtown second with singles, and Chandler Wall and Cashwell drove them in with singles that padded the Bladen lead to 7-0.

Jaylen Smith blasted a home run to start the Elizabethtown third. Trinidad delivered another double, and Lewis cracked a single. Taylor King smacked a single that scored Trinidad, and Register drilled a triple that scored Lewis and Taylor King.

Gauge King plated Register with a single. Wall yanked a single to left, and McKoy knocked in Gauge King and Wall to end the inning with Elizabethtown ahead 14-0.

Cashwell began the Elizabethtown fourth with a single, and Trinidad pounded a double that scored Cashwell. Russ’ single plated Trinidad with the final Bladen run.

Trinidad slugged 3 doubles, scored 3 runs and drove in three. Taylor King also batted 3-3 with a double, 3 runs batted in and a run scored. Cashwell was 3-3 at the plate with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Russ batted 3-3 with 2 rbi’s and a run scored.

Lewis batted 3-3 with 2 runs scored. Register finished 2-2 at the plate with a triple, 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Gauge King batted 2-2 with 2 runs scored and an rbi. Wall was also 2-2 with an rbi.

Smith clobbered a solo home run and batted 2-3. McKoy was 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi’s, a double and a run scored. Noah German also batted 2-3.

Elizabethtown will play Whiteville Monday at 8 p.m. in the finals of the winner’s bracket.
