Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY – Dillon Brisson and Caleb Parnell walloped home runs Monday night to lead Bladen County to an 8-6 victory Monday night over South Columbus in the District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Coach-Pitch Tournament.

Dillon Brisson slammed a 2-out double, and Parnell and Samuel Cummings cracked singles that scored Dillon Brisson and put Bladen County up 1-0 in the first inning.

South Columbus scored twice in the second inning to go up 2-1, but Chase Bryan ignited a third-inning Bladen County rally with a 2-out single. Cole Brisson smashed a double, and Dillon Brisson clobbered a home run that scored Chase Bryan and Cole Brisson and vaulted Bladen County in front 4-2.

Chase Bryan and Cole Brisson connected for one-out singles in the Bladen fifth inning. Dillon Brisson knocked in Bryan with a double, and Parnell blasted a 3-run home run that scored Cole Brisson and Dillon Brisson to boost the lead to 8-2.

The winners then withstood a 4-run South Columbus rally in the final inning.

Cole Brisson batted 3-3 with 2 doubles and a home run, scored 3 runs and drove in four. Parnell also turned in a 3-3 game with a home run, a run scored and 3 runs batted in. Luke Bryant batted 2-2 for the winners.

Chase Bryan finished with a 2-3 game at the plate with 2 runs scored. Cole Brisson batted 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored. Cummings was 2-3 at the plate with an rbi. Ashton Davis batted 2-3, and Brody Rhodes and Gavin Brisson smacked one hit each.

Bladen County advances to a 7:30 game Tuesday night against Whiteville.
