Dixie Youth BaseballTABOR CITY – Elizabethtown rolled to a 16-6 victory over host South Columbus in a District 2 Dixie Youth Baseball Supplemental Tournament elimination game Sunday night.

After South Columbus jumped in front with a trio of first-inning runs, Elizabethtown answered with 7 runs in the bottom of the first. Nolan Tatum, Connor Smith, Mason Smith, Tre’don Scott, Allister Russ, Chace Butler and Gavin Elks scored one run each in the inning.

South Columbus closed to within 7-4, but Jackson Smith and Colin King scored runs in the Elizabethtown second inning to pad the lead to 9-4.

South Columbus pulled to within 9-5, but a 6-run Elizabethtown third inning sealed the verdict. Scott, Russ, Butler, Marcus Williams, Elks and Ryan Dove scored the third-inning runs for the winners.

South Columbus scored once in the fourth to trim the final margin to 15-6.
