WHITEVILLE – Whiteville Optimist defeated Bladen County 11-1 in the winners’ bracket final of the Dixie Youth Baseball District 2 Majors Supplemental Tournament.
Bladen County will play Columbus County Sunday at 3 p.m. in an elimination game.
Bladen County’s lone run came in the fourth inning when T. J. Parker and Michael Young belted singles. Parker scored the Bladen run.
Parker batted 2-2 to lead the Bladen hitters. Young, James Edwards, Wadeyn Norris and Eric Shaw contributed one hit each to the 6-hit Bladen County attack.
