Elizabetown_Majors_SupplementalELIZABETHTOWN – K. J. Brown pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven batters to lead Elizabethtown to a 10-0 victory over West Robeson National Sunday in the Dixie Youth Baseball District 9 Majors Supplemental Tournament.

Elizabethtown advances to Tuesday’s championship game at 6 p.m. against the winner of Monday’s West Robeson National/Lumberton game.

Brown walked three and allowed a lead-off single in the second inning. That runner was retired on Elizabethtown’s third double-play of the tournament.

Secondbaseman Elijah Crabtree speared a hot grounder and flipped the ball to shortstop Malcolm Bolden at second base. Bolden gunned the ball to firstbaseman Walker Ward to complete the double play.

Elizabethtown exploded for 8 runs in the first inning. Bolden beat out an infield hit, and Crabtree walked. Elijah Bullard knocked in Bolden and Crabtree with a single, and Brown drew a walk.

Ryan Johnson cracked a single that scored Bullard, and Brown also raced home on the play. Carson Gooden and Zamar Lewis drew walks. Ward’s fielder’s choice scored Ryan Johnson.

Destin Montgomery smacked a single to centerfield that scored Lewis and Ward. After walks to Jake Futrell and Nathan Howell, Montgomery darted home for an 8-0 lead.

Elizabethtown ended the game on the mercy rule in the fourth inning. Bullard swatted a single through the middle to start the inning, and Brown blasted a double into the rightfield corner.

Ryan Johnson’s fielder’s choice plated Bullard, and Gooden’s fielder’s choice scored Brown and ended the game on the mercy rule.

Brown batted 2-2 with a double and 2 runs scored. Bullard finished 2-3 at the plate with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Bolden also batted 2-3 with a run scored.

Ryan Johnson singled, scored a run and drove in two. Ward singled, scored a run and had an rbi. Montgomery singled in 2 runs and scored one. Gooden had one rbi, and Crabtree and Lewis scored one run each.
