ELIZABETHTOWN – Bryley Williams was hit by pitch to force home Davion Graham with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Navy edged the Royal 11-10 Friday night in Dixie Boys Baseball action at County Park.

Graham walked to begin the Navy seventh inning, and Antonio Candelaria and Brycen Blackmon beat out infield hits to load the bases with one out, before the winning run scored.

The Royal had jumped in front 6-0 in the first inning. Nathan Howell and Evan Pait led off with singles and Raymond Autry walked. Destin Montgomery blasted a 3-run triple to left-centerfield that scored Howell, Pait and Autry.

Garrison Tatum walked, and Sherman Monroe drilled a 2-run triple to rightfield that scored Montgomery and Garrison Tatum. Nyquan Richardson slapped a single to centerfield that scored Sherman Monroe.

Candelaria walked, stole second and scored when Michael Young cracked a single to rightfield in the Navy half of the first.

The Navy closed the gap to 6-2 in the second as Alex Strange smashed a double and scored on a passed ball.

Pait singled to start the Royal third but was forced out by Autry. Montgomery ripped a double to left-centerfield that scored Autry and padded the lead to 7-2.

The Navy answered in the home third as Graham walked, stole second and scored on Blackmon’s fielder’s choice to whittle the margin to 7-3.

The Navy exploded for 7 runs in the home fourth. Young belted a single, and Devon Strange walked. Kaiden Stanley walloped a triple to right-centerfield that scored Young and Devon Strange. Alex Strange poled a sacrifice fly that scored Kaiden Stanley.

Elijah Crabtree walked, and Pumpkin Smith yanked a single to left. Josh Russ singled and an throwing error on the play scored Crabtree, Smith and Russ. Graham walked and eventually stole home to boost the Navy lead to 10-7.

The Royal pulled even in the top of the seventh. Garrison Tatum hammered a triple to left-centerfield and scored on Weston Hatcher’s sacrifice fly. Sherman Monroe and Richardson belted singles. Monroe scored on a passed third strike, and Richardson scored on an error to tie the game.

Young batted 3-3 with a run batted in and a run scored for the Navy. Kaiden Stanley clubbed the 2-run triple and scored a run. Alex Strange doubled, scored a run and drove in a run. Candelaria, Blackmon, Smith and Russ added one hit each.

Graham scored 3 runs, and Candelaria, Devon Strange, Crabtree, Smith and Russ scored one run each. Williams drove in a run.

Williams started on the mound and struck out 8 batters in 3.1 innings. Kaiden Stanley worked the next 2.2 innings and struck out three. Alex Strange pitched the final inning to pick up the win.

Montgomery batted 2-3 with a double, a triple, 4 rbi’s and a run scored to lead the Royal hitters. Pait finished 2-3 at the plate with a run scored. Sherman Monroe batted 2-3 with a 2-run triple and 2 runs scored. Richardson was also 2-3 at the plate with an rbi and a run scored.

Garrison Tatum tripled and scored twice. Howell, Autry and Lafon Monroe connected for one hit each. Autry scored twice, and Howell scored one. Hatcher drove in a run.

Autry struck out 3 batters in 2 innings for the Royal. Montgomery relieved him and pitched 1.1 innings. Pait struck out 4 in his 3 innings on the mound.
