Dixie Youth Baseball The Tigers broke a 2-2 tie with a 5-run fourth-inning and went on to defeat the Hurricanes 10-3 Monday night in Dixie Boys Baseball action at County Park.

The Tigers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Brady Hollingsworth and Rasean McKoy belted singles, and both runners raced home as Tyler Hill reached base on an error.

The Hurricanes tied the game in the third inning. Elijah Crabtree and Brycen Blackmon drew walks, and Michael Young and Devon Strange cracked run-scoring singles.

Hollingsworth led off the Tiger fourth inning with a single, and McKoy knocked him in with a single. Hill walked, and Grayson Clark smacked a single that scored McKoy. Alex Brisson walloped a triple that drove in Hill and Clark, and Malcolm Bolden’s fielder’s choice scored Brisson and put the Tigers ahead 7-2.

Drew Sholar started the Tiger sixth inning with a single and sprinted home when McKoy cracked a single. After Hill walked, Clark reached base on an error as McKoy and Hill scored and padded the lead to 10-2.

The Hurricanes tacked on a run in the seventh. Wadeyn Norris and Bryley Williams drew walks, and Young lined a single that scored Norris.

McKoy batted a perfect 3-3 to lead the Tiger hitters. Hollingsworth and Sholar both finished 2-3 at the plate. Brisson clubbed the 2-run triple, and Bolden and Clark added one hit each.

Sholar started on the mound and pitched 3 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 2 runs on 4 hits and 3 walks. Clark relieved and pitched 3.1 innings to pick up the win, striking out 4 and giving up a run on 2 hits and 3 walks.

Young batted 3-4 to lead the Hurricane hitters. Blackmon, Devon Strange, Kaiden Stanley and Norris connected for one hit each.
Blackmon pitched 3-plus innings and allowed 6 runs on 7 hits and a walk while striking out six. Young worked the final 3 innings on the mound and gave up 4 runs on 3 hits and a walk, while striking out three.
