LUMBERTON – Derrick Long and Logan West combined on a 5-inning no-hitter Tuesday night as West Bladen’s Knights rolled to a 10-0 victory over Lumberton after the Pirates took the first game 8-2.
Long pitched the first 3 innings, and West came on to work the final 2 innings on the mound. West also belted 2 hits for the Knights, and catcher Jake Butler slammed 2 hits.
David Valenta knocked in 2 runs with a bases-loaded single and finished the night with 2 hits. Jonathan Robinson, Jeremy Pait and Dalton Pait connected for one hit each for the winners.
Nolan Bryant pitched all 4 innings in the first game for West Bladen. Bryant, Trey Storms, Colby White, West and Robinson smacked one hit each for the Knights.
West Bladen, now 3-1, will host East Bladen Thursday night at 6 p.m.
